Launching a new service: English Proofreading and Editing for non-speakers
‘It comes with the territory’ – an expression often used to describe a difficult task that you need to do because of your job.
Well, proofreading and editing the student’s work certainly comes with the territory when you’re an English teacher. Don’t get me wrong, I love helping the students and if that means spending lesson after lesson correcting the spelling, grammar and punctuation in their presentation or reports, I don’t mind. However, what worries me is that we could be spending that time practising their English instead.
It may not sound that important but just imagine how much more we could be doing in the lesson instead of correcting a document. For example, pronunciation practice, vocabulary games, role-plays, reading etc. Much more interesting, don’t you think?
It was such a huge relief when we finally launched English Proofreading and Editing service. The students can now send their documents to us and they can be proofread outside their online lessons. They can do so much more in the lessons now and I’m certainly happy too. Good news for everyone! Finally, proofreading no longer comes with my territory!
